Well Operating Permit Application

(this section is under construction)

A Well Operating Permit is <will be> required for each non-exempt well used to produce water.

The Well Operating Permit Application is to be submitted with the Well Development Application for a new well prior and a Well Operating Permit obtained from the District prior to the well being drilled.

The Well Operating Permit Application (for existing non-exempt well) is to be submitted with the Well Registration Application (for existing non-exempt well).  In all other circumstances (e.g. changing a well from exempt use to non-exempt use), the Well Operating Permit Application is to be submitted to the District and an Operating Permit obtained from the District prior to the well being placed in production for a non-exempt use.

The Well Operating Permit Application (existing non-exempt well) is to be submitted with the Well Registration Application (for existing non-exempt well) and is used only for the 1st operating permit obtained for a non-exempt well that was drilled and completed prior to the start of well registration by the District <Date>.

Comal Trinity GCD Rules Section XX Registration and Permitting set forth the procedures and requirements to be followed in the application and permitting process to operate non-exempt wells within the District.

Prior to the expiration of a Well Operating Permit, since these permits are issued for a defined period of time (see Rule xx, CTGCD Rules), a Well Operating Permit Renewal Application must be completed and filed with the District.  This form is to be filed at least sixty (60) days prior to the expiration of a Well Operating Permit (see Rule xx, CTGCD Rules).

If the conditions of a Well Operating Permit are to be changed as the permit is renewed or if changes to the permit are required during the period of the permit, a Well Operating Permit Amendment Application must be filed with the District and approved by the District prior to the changes being made (see Rule xx, CTGCD Rules).

Contact the District office if there are any questions about obtaining operating permits for non-exempt wells.
